Driving to Mysore we saw a ton of beautiful landscape and all in all one of the best parts about the south tour was the outrageous scenery!
One of the stops along the way was to a Jain temple that needed a 1,200 steps to arrive to the top all taken in the heat of the day. There was some whining from people along the way, but the view you saw once you arrived on top made the hike completely worthwhile. For those who are Jain I am sure the temple and statue on top is worthwhile also.
